Pro Se power of subpoena
I am pro se and wonder if it is correct
that I can serve the trustee with a sub
in order to view ledgers rather than
a forensic accounting. Would it be possible to just send that to his attorney?

You do not say what your relationship is to the trust. Presuming you have some relationship, like being a beneficiary, the trustee is obligated to account to you, and provisions of the trust document should require it. If the trustee refuses, you can sue for the accounting, and a subpoena is part of the suit. If you have no relationship with the trust, you have no rights.
