Legal Question in Banking Law in New Mexico

Business checking account

Three months after resigning because of ethics concerns, I have been asked to sign to remove my name as ''Primary Joint Ownership'' on business checking accounts that I thought I was just a ''signer'' on. Because of my concerns, what could I be responsible for in the future on these accounts and how should I approach this now?

Depending on business structure and accountholder agreements, you could have personal and joint/several liability, which would be very problematic if your ethics concerns affected the financial dealings of the company and bank account related transactions.
