Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Mexico

I was given tickets Oct 2003 for various minor crimes such as no insurance, failure to stop @ stop sign, no seat belt, possession of marijuana (small amt) & paraphenelia. All charges were dismissed by a Judge in court except no seat belts which I took a class for & then that was dismissed too. Why am I having denial of security employment backround check due to these dismissed charges? How do I have them removed from my records? I was young & foolish then but now have a family to support. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Your criminal background check is disclosing these charges. Your remedy is to have the court file sealed, and the arrest records removed. A daunting task in NM, and very, very pricey. While it can be done, there are many pitfalls, and it takes persistence and money to attempt to get it done.
