I had a warrant out for my arrest in Colorado for criminal impersonation, I moved to New Mexico and hadnt taken care of the charge before I moved. I was then pulled over and arrested in New Mexico for my outstanding warrant in Colorado. Colorado denied to come and get me and the fugitive warrant was then cancelled. However, New Mexico filed for a governor's warrant to be issued for my extradiction, or at least to put me in jail for 30 days to see if Colorado will take me this time. Is the governor's warrant still valid or is it void since the original warrant is cancelled since they denied me?
If Colorado doesn't want you, and their warrant has been canceled, then the NM warrant is void. Consult an experienced criminal defense lawyer in your area if you have continuing problems. If you don't know any, go to http://nmbar.org and find one there.
