Re: child suport

If you want to close your case, and you are not on public assistance, then you can write a note to the Child Support Enforcement Division (include your CSED Case Id. No.) and tell them to close your case. Then, being a very smart person, call the 800 number every day and check to see that your case has been closed. If it is not closed in about 10 days after you have written your letter and called at least 3 or 4 days in a row then call the 800 number and ask that the CSED legal assistant assigned to your case call you at a specific date and time. (If you give them a specific date and time you can ensure that both you and the worker will be at a particular place at a particular time). If you have not received the call in about 7 to 10 days then like every good citizen call the Governor's office (go to the Governor's web page @ www.state.nm.us for his telephone number) and explain to them how you have patiently attempted to contact CSED and now here you are (about 3 weeks later) and no one will respond to your telephone calls. Believe me, if you get to the point of having to call the Governor's office your case worker will call shortly thereafter and will do everything they can to make you happy.
