I have Sole Custody of my Children; their dad having visitation. While our youngest (just turnes14)was with her dad he took her to get a tattoo. Is there anything I can do about this legally?

A) with the company (I believe it is sombody doing tattoos on the side)

B) with her dad

Thanks in advance-

B first: Depends on what is in your parenting plan: most likely he needed your consent to get the procedure done. You could ask the court for an Order to Show Cause (why he should not be held in contempt for violating the the parenting plan).

A: I looked at the Body Art Safe Practices Act (NMSA 61-17B) and the regulations. A tattoo artist must be licensed but there is apparently no minimum age to get a tattoo. That surprised me! Doesn't require parent's consent as far as I can tell. You should discuss this with a Personal Injury lawyer to see if there's a way for you to proceed against the tattooist.
