Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Mexico

I am a psychologist in private practice. I agreed to postpone collection for my services until the law suit was settled via a Letter of Protection. The attorney was unable to obtain a settlement for my

patient. Am I able to collect on services provided, therefore I was not paid. Is it legal to expect the client to pay?

Yes. Your services were provided in expectation of payment. The client received the services and is obligated to pay for them on the basis upon which you originally agreed. Since the legal matter did not produce funds, the client owes for the services which s/he received.
