Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Mexico

my cousin and her boyfriend and their kids are getting kicked out of their apartment. the landlord wont tell them why and they are keeping the deposit. the agreement lease states that my cousin will get the deposit back but the landlord is refusing to do so. what can we do?

File suit in small claims court. In Bernalillo County it the Metropolitan Court. In all other counties it is the Magistrate Court. No lawyers required; they provide the necessary forms, but not legal advice. This is a common problem and the courts know how to deal with it.
