Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Mexico

I sold a vehicle to a gentleman about 6-9 months ago, and I revieved a parking ticket for the vehicle in question about 3 weeks ago. The man I sold it to did not register the vehicle in his name and is in current possession of the title. I do not have his information, only the address where the violation occured.

The vehicle has had an expired registration for over 12 months, and since it is expired, and the buyer whoever it is hasn't registered the vehicle, what can I do? I am aware that I am financially responsible for the vehicle, and must pay the price for my ignorance, but what steps do I need to take to prevent recieving additional parking fines, speeding ticket violations, etc when I do not know who is driving the car I sold!?

You will have to deal with the courts when citations come up, or sue your buyer to require him/her to properly register the vehicle. Calling MVD may get results, also.
