Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Mexico

Hello, I live in New Mexico, and have a question relating to debt and the deceased. I am the executor of the estate and am concerned that I may be liable for debts incurred- mostly hospital bills in this case. Should I declare insolvency for the estate of the deceased? The assets are negligible in this case. Your help is greatly appreciated.

The Personal Representative of the estate is not individually responsible for the indebtedness of the estate. Once the creditor's claims are paid proportionately, the estate is closed. All debts may not be paid in full. You should consult an attorney who specializes in wills and estates for specific advice concerning your situation.
