Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York

I am looking for factual answers not anyones opinion on what im doing. I have $5000 in unsecured debt and $12500 in debt on an auto loan. I have absolutly no assets and am planning to leave the united states and move to new zealand after i sell the auto in which the loan is tied to. Providing I sell the car and recieve the money, not paying off any loans, can the companies I owe to do anything to me while residing in another country besides destroy my credit and place judgements against me in the united states?

Locksley Wade Law Office of Locksley O. Wade

They can get a judgment against you in the United States and then seek enforcement of the judgment in another country providing that other country recognizes a judgment rendered in the United States court. Given that New Zealand is a common law country as is the U.S., it all probability, they will recognize the U.S. judgment.
