Legal Question in Business Law in New York

2. Evans used his credit card to run up a $987.50 bill with Macy�s. When Macy�s tried to collect, Evans wrote a check for $790. On the check, he wrote, �in full payment of all accounts due to date.� Macy�s cashed the check, and then sued for $197.50. Will Macy�s be able to collect this amount?
