Legal Question in Business Law in New York

credit reports

we are looking to start a business consulting people on there credit scores. we would have to pull are clients credit score, would there have to be any legal contracts involved to protect bolth parties, and further more is there any laws out there saying we need lisenceing

Mr. Gonzalez is correct. However, to answer the second part of your question, if this business was in New York you would not need a license. However, if the business was conducted over the internet or in multiple States, you would have to conduct a State by State search.

you should have your clients sign releases permitting you to run the search...
