Legal Question in Business Law in New York

A customer is suing for work done on her car done at my repair shop. She had sent her car to another repair shop in between the times she had the car repaired by me. She is not specifying as to what work on her car she is suing me for as well now sending some sort of court order for the receipt i did on her car. I am not sure as to what measures should be taken and the fact that a receipt should be given to her since she herself has no evidence.

You don't indicate how much she is suing for or in which court she is suing. If it a small claims matter, the initiating documents by which a claim is filed are typically vague and usually are a single sentence. If she is suing in New York City Civil Court or New York State Supreme Court, then you are entitled to make a motion for a more particularized complaint.

I'm not sure what you mean by "some sort of court order for the receipt." Perhaps it is a discovery demand?

You would need to provide more information. You can either re-post your question or you can contact me directly, by phone or e-mail.

Good luck to you.
