Legal Question in Business Law in New York
Dear Attorney, If I want to go into a new line of business of being a seller for medical supplies, what is the quickest way to start from a legal point of view. in other words, I am not sure if this business is going to continue; I am trying it out. For example, i need to get a resale number. Do I have to go through the whole process of forming a business with the state of NY? Simply put, If I am in a rush to go out and make money, will I be held back until the entire application process is filed with the state of NY? And that might take another month or two? Also, is there any way that I can sign a contract with my supplier not to ever sell to my clients?

I think all you can do at this point is to discuss your plans and objectives over with a lawyer in detail to see about a best course of action.
You are going to want to set up a proper business structure before you start transacting any business especially in what I perceive as a high liability enterprise like medical supplies. You are also going to want a good business liability policy in place as well.
Further, before you start spending any money in support of your trademark (advertising, marketing, branding, PR packaging, etc.) you will first want to properly clear the TM and have an application filed with the USPTO. And as you mentioned, you will need some attention on your business agreements.
The other threshold issue, which is probably the first order of business is making sure there are no legal compliance hoops to walk though. For example, specific permits or licenses required to do what you intend.
If you would like to discuss further over a free phone consult, feel free to contact me anytime that is convenient.
