Can i sell attire on thestreet of NYC

I have a federal Ein number and a certificate to cllect NYS sales tax. Can I sell my bussiness items in the street?Boroughs of nyc.(manhattan and bronx speciffically.)

Sure, as long as you collect and properly submit sales tax and properly report your income, no one in the federal or state government cares where you sell your goods.

Remember, though, that you must also comply with City zoning and street vendor regulations! Check with a NYC lawyer for that info. I'm located about 200 miles north of the City so don't know the zoning/street vendor regs there.

You can only sell books and art without a vendors license in NYC (there are some limits on where you can sell). For everything else, including clothing, you need the license form the NYC Dept. of Consumer Affairs. It is hard to get unless you are a veteran, the wife of a veteran or disabled since there is a long waiting list.
