Legal Question in Business Law in New York

Someone is suing me for something that supposedly happened almost 7 years ago now (was filed almost a year ago just a few days before the statute of limitations would have expired). We just had our first appearance a little over a month ago, and the Judge said the case belonged in the local civil court, not the supreme civil court in which he filed. She said she would be sending the case to the local civil court and that they would be mailing us with the details. Since the suit was filed in the wrong court, and the statute of limitations has now expired, would the statute of limitations apply to the case now?

Once the case is filed the statute of limitations is satisfied. That it is transferred to another court doesn't help you.
