Cybersquatting entails the registration of a domain name that would likely be the trademarked name of another. For example, if an individual registered the domain name of, say, "www.microsoft.com" in an effort to eventually sell the domain name to microsoft at a profit, that individual would have engaged in cybersquatting.

Yes, there are laws against such activities.
