Legal Question in Construction Law in New York

contracture from hell

I had construction started in Sept 05. Due to the negligence of the construction workers my house got flooded. The insurance company corrected what was damaged, however the contracture is still giving me problems the workers he sends to my home do not do the job properly they usually have to come back and redo the work. He rarely comes by to see what is going on in my house, the job is still not completed. Its been nothing but aggravation from the very beginning. What can i do. On the contract it states he has 180days from start to finish

Re: contracture from hell

It depends on how the contract is written. Some contracts allow the owner to terminate if the contractor persistently fails to staff the jon with enough qualified workers, or persistently fails to do the work correctly without having to wait for the "contract time" to expire. You might wish to consult with an attorney to ascertain your rights.
