Legal Question in Construction Law in New York

Handyman

Do I need any type of license to be a handyman in New York? I am only interested in doing simple, non-structural, non-electrical work.

Yes. In New York City and several of the surrounding counties, you would have to be licensed with the Department of Consumer Affairs.
