Am I liable to pay charges on a service where there was no contract established, no fee and no invoicing?

Maybe-I lack enough info to say for sure. An oral contract is still good (but I do all my retainers in writing anyway). Plus, the courts don't want someone to receive a benefit without paying anything and might decide to award the servicer in "quantum meruit" (reasonable $ amt for services but maybe not necessarily what the servicer wanted).
