Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York

I am suing a major car dealership at the Supreme Court level. FRAUD. Judge would not review case claiming the only thing I would get if this went to trial was additional legal fees.

?1. If a settlement is offered, MUST I take it that day or is there a period of time to reflect on the offer.

?2. Is there a time frame I must receive the settlement by.

?3. If I do NOT receive the settlement by the date, does that put them in contempt

but more importantly, allow me the option to then say "no thank you" to the settlement and seek other options?

Your question isn't entirely clear. I would need to know what you mean by the judge refusing to review the case. Is the case scheduled for mediation? Arbitration? Is there a settlement conference scheduled?

A settlement offer made in court is sometimes only available to accept at that time, but depending on the nature of the case, it could remain open for acceptance beyond the time it is presented.

The short answer is... you should really have an attorney representing you. You may be forced to settle for less without one.
