is there a statue of limitation in new york state for credit cards portfolio recovery said we owe them for a discovery charge from 1993

SOL's is 6 years. If you have not made a payment during last 6 years NOR have you acknowledge that you owe the money, write to them and tell them the debt is time barred and not to contact you anymore.
If they file a claim (they are allowed), you must appear and answer with the defense of SOL's has expired.
