When were you married? Who owes the debt? When was the debt incurred?

Let's put it this way...marriage does not affect a prior debt. If she owed a debt before she was married, she owes the debt afterwards. Can a company go after your wife for a debt depends on many things...when was the debt incurred? How much? What for?
