Debt statue of limitations

I have a hospital in New York State trying through a collection agency to collect on two bills, one eight years old and one thirteen years old. What are my rights voncerning any Statue of Limitations for this type of debt?

Send a cease and desist letter to the collection agency. The Statute of Limitations is 6 years.
