Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

I own a house in Ireland and have been out of work for almost 2 years. I have kept up payments by paying interest only but have just been offered a job opportunity in NYC. If I hand the keys back to the bank in Ireland, can they still reach me in the United States? I am an American citizen and have no plans on returning to Ireland once I leave.

Thank you!

So the question is really - can a creditor's judgment in Ireland be enforced in New York?

Generally speaking, the judgment creditor would have to commence another action against the debtor in New York to "domesticate" the judgment with the New York Courts. New York generally recognizes judgments coming from a democratic country such as Ireland so long as the judgment is obtained through proper procedure and due process.
