Issued Summons

Issued court summons of being sued by creditor. states 20 days if personal delivery, 30 days if non personal. letter stamped by court aug 1st. Envelope stamped by post office aug 8th. delivered by regular mail service, when would i have to show up to court the latest date? using aug 8th and 30 days? i just want to make sure, thank you

You must file an answer within 30 days of receipt of the letter. To be safe you should have an answer (formal legal document responding to the complaint) filed by September 8th. You should also have had a copy left at your front door.
