Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

I live in New York but have debt in Denmark

I owe a total amount of 120,000 to a couple of Danish banks. I have good credit here in the states, and pay all my bills on time. Can the Danish banks make collections over here?

Looking forward to hear from you

Yes, depending upon the circumstances a foreign creditor can either sue a debtor in NY, or seek to have NY recognize and permit enforcement of a judgment against the debtor that was obtained in a foreign country. There are certain limitations regarding foreign judgments depending on what the judgment is for and the legal system of the country in which it was obtained.

My law firm has experience in representing debtors and creditors in these types of cases.
