Promissory Note

a friend borrowed money, approx $4,000.00. i have a notarized promissory note, and all receipts being i made payments instead of handing money over to person. he has made some payments, but is now refusing to make future payments. how hard is it to receive a judgement?

It appears that you have sufficient proof to file a claim in small claims court. Present the promissory note; evidence of payment; and any correspondence relating to the same (if any).

Although nobody can predict what a particular judge may rule or what the defendant may say it court, it appears that you have sufficient evidence to obtain a judgment.
