Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

i have been sued and i have little or no income to pay it now or ever

ive just been sued for an old debt and they sued me fo 1500 dollars im currently disabled and wont be able to work ever again i was told to send them a budget letter and they would try to work something out my question is if only get $136 a month in public benifits how would i pay this back i want to pay it but they sued me at the lowest point of my life will continue to trying to get large payments or will they i really do not have the income to pay this?

Your crditors cannot take any money from your public benefits even if they obtain a judgment against you. Send them proof that you are on public benefits.
