Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

i am charged with 2 counts misdemeanor assault and one count forceable touching these are my first offenses in nyc but the da is recomending 6 months in jail and i have a trial set but only have legal aid representation. what are my chances or options

If you offer to plead guilty to the charges, without asking for a reduction, you can deal directly with the judge, who can ignore the DA. Ask your lawyer what the judge will give you. If you go to trial and lose, you could get two years.
