Corporations and Criminal Acts
Can a corporation be charged with a misdemeanor criminal act? I have a corporation for which I performed bookkeeping and tax work and the president of this corporation has refused to pay me. Thank you.
Re: Corporations and Criminal Acts
A corporation can be charged with a mis or a felony, but not under these facts. This is a debt collection problem. Small claims court can help you.

Legitimate corporations CAN be charged with criminal acts, such as "theft of services." However, it is usually tough to prove because they will say it's a "business dispute."
Depending on the dollar amount and just where you are located, you might simply be better off sending one final "demand for payment" letter via certified, return receipt, due no later than 15 days, and if that does not work, then file a small claims action - assuming that you are within the dollar amount for small claims.
If I can be of any further assistance, please contact me.
