Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

I am estranged from my family. Last year one of my sisters was harassing me online. I blocked her from my e-mail account. Now, I am receiving e-mails from mylife.com stating that a boyfriend from 30 years ago that I was looking for has been found. I contacted the site and they said that I set up the account on 7/31/10. I have never heard of this site nor did I ever set up an account nor am I looking for this person. I'm not on facebook, myspace or any other site. I asked them to trace who did set up this account for me and they said they didn't have the technology to do a trace and that I'd need a subpoena from the police department to do so. I realize this sounds petty but things got pretty heated last year and my sister is medicated (for mental issues) and I know this is going to build up into something big. Is there a way I can stop her? Kindly advise. Thank you.

Some complicated issues. If you can prove the online harassment you could try to file criminal charges against her. I'm not sure that's what you want. The new emails do not seem to be harassing, but troublesome. Be wary as there may be other accounts set up for you which you are unaware. You should probably keep a watch on your online account info. Lastly, make sure that you do not take any matters into your own hands because that may result in criminal charges against you.

Good Luck
