There is nothing you can do. This is up to the parole board and him.

If he is eligible for parole, when he goes before the parole board he should admit the offense and show remorse. However this could cause a problem if he wins his appeal and is granted a new trial. He should determine from his appeals lawyer what his chance are on appeal.,
