Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

I know a girl who *claims* that her father is a detective. Me and her have argued on a social website, in a very aggressive way. She *claims* that her father is using his status to "investigate" my comments and file charges against me. Now, clearly to do this, wouldn't a warrant be needed to force the website and then the ISP to provide my information? In any event, if this isn't an idle threat, what recourse could I have?

Wouldn't it be an abuse of powers? Conflict of interest? Most of my statements were general statements, never directed to anyone. The only thing directed at someone was me RE-POSTING something they sent me, not in confidentiality.

Thoughts?
