Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Identity Theft - Sr/Jr. - Judgements?

I have been the victim of identity theft. My bank account has been frozen by a lawyer for a collection agency on something I didn't buy. My credit report shows a 10,000 dollar court judgement on a vehicle loan I've never had. From my credit report, it started around 2002. Can I still file a police report? Where do I begin?

There are a variety of ways of going around this, it is all dependant on what your ultimate goals are regarding your situation.

Depending on your desired goals this could be something that would cost you as little as a few hundred dollrs to several thousand dollars...

generally, criminal charges such as the ones you would have considered pressing must be filed within a statutory period... if not, then there is a loss of jurisdiction bythe Court to go forward with such charges... you very well may be over that limit, being that its been many years... however, there may be a way around that...

i would suggest you contacting my office to schedule a consultation... where we could further discuss all of your options and which route would be best suited for you...

there is a small fee for such a consultation, and this fee would be fully applicable toward our retainer if you decide to hire our office.

much luck. feel free to contact us at 212.709.8303

You start by going to an attorney and start filing the paperwork to vacate the judgements.

This is going to get very difficult and expensive to clear this up.

Good Luck,

Joel R. Salinger, Esq.

The longer you wait to get an attorney involved, the worse it is going to get.
