Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

i made hang up phone calls 2 years ago. the woman had the police investigate it. my name came up on the investigation butsince she didnt know me didnt think i was the one who was doing it. Now she found out i am in a relationship with her husband and ordered the courts to reopen it believing it is me. what is the statue of limitations on hang up phone calls

the statute of limitations is two years from the time of the last call, however, if you were try to reach the woman's husband and only hung up when she answered, then you would not have committed a crime because your intent was not to harrass or annoy.

The crime would be Aggravated Harassment which is a misdemeanor. The statute of limitations would be two years. Keep in mind though that if there was a legitimate purpose for the phone call then you haven�t even committed a crime in the first place.
