Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Misdemeanor in the state of Missisippi

Hello there. I currently reside in the state of New York and am looking for a criminal attorney to answer a very important question that I have. I recently contacted a local lawyer in NY and he advised me to contact a criminal case attorney in Mississippi first. In 2001, I was arrested for using a fake ID while I was in a car with another person who was driving the vehicle. I was arrested and pleaded guilty in the court. I was charged a fine of $ 400 at that time. After that, I sent them a partial payment of $ 50 in the form of money order but failed to pay the rest of it. I would like to know from you what I should do now for that. Should I pay the balance at this time or is there a different balance at this time since I haven`t paid the balance all these years. Please notify me as soon as possible as I would have to take care of it ASAP. Your help in this matter is highly appreciated.

Retain a Mississippi attorney to determine whether the fine is still outstanding and whether a warrant was ordered. The answer to these questions will determine what course of action to take.
