Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

I was moving into a smaller apartment, a family member who was down on luck, I allowed at various times to stay in the apartment was refusing to leave, the only property belonging to them was clothing. They were claiming squatter rights. So I disposed of the furniture which belonged to me. they reported the incident to NYP in May 0f 2017, In January 2018 my job informed me that the NYC Department of investigations informed my supervisors that I was being arrested and had to surrender. This was an NYC Housing Complex, and I am employed by them. The court case is pending. please advised
