prolonged prosecution
I have been charged with attempted grand larson and they have postponed my court dates for over a year. It has been postponed on more than five ocassions as well as changing my lawyer 3 times. I have a P.D. I have been trying to get on with my life and I want to move out of state because there is nothing here for work or a futeure here for me. What can i do? Don't I have the right to a speedy trial?? i don;t have money, i'm poor, and i don't know what to do? The main reason they keep postponing it is because they have nothing on me. I didn't do anything. Please, help me if you can. Thank you.
Re: prolonged prosecution
I am sorry this has been imposed on you. Yes, you have a right to a speedy trial. however, you can waive that right. That may be what has happened. Changing lawyers will slow things down.
