Public consumption of alcohol
I'm an 18 year old student from NY who was charged with posession of an open container of alcohol in a public place, however I've been unable to find any information on the severity of the crime and possible penalties. Should I be very concerned?

This is typically a 'violation' and is punishable by a fine in the neighborhood of 75 dollars.
