Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

My son was indicted with 2 counts of 2nd degree murder and many counts of robbery, burglary& assault in all 3 degrees for all (32 counts in all together)

he is being held as the getaway driver for a robbery and murder that took place with 3 other people that actually did the actions.he was nowhere near the crime scene.he has no criminal history unlike the others.the police did harrass & threatend him which led him to writing a statement,he knew no better which probably incriminated him..any advice? can charges be dropped? ,ESPECIALLY the murder charges? what can he's lawyer do to help him?

Based upon the information you have supplied it is difficult to answer this question. If he was nowhere near the crime it is hard to be the getaway driver. Probably his statement to the police is the entire case against him. His lawyer must seek to suppress it. If successful the case against him will probable fall apart. You should speak to his lawyer to find out exactly what thay plan to do to defend your son.
