Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New York

My son was harassed today in school by 2 students. I had to pick him up because he was extremely upset. he has been getting picked on because he is gay and my biggest fear is getting a phone call saying that my son is hurt. he feels threaten everyday he is in this high school. i dont know what to do. i know the two kids names, if i brought that to the police station would they be able to do anything because i spoke with the dean of the school and she's trying to turn everything on my son and my son did the right thing and walked away. Please help!

The police will not take any action unless there is an immediate threat to your son's physical safety. Your best course of action is to aggressively follow-up with the school and school board. If there is little or no action, then you should see an attorney about the possibility of obtaining an injunctive relief through a court action against the school and the two students.
