Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New York

I was suspended on 4/22/10 for hearsay harrassment without pay. on 4/26 i was formally terminated for this accusation.on that day i did not recieve my termination paperwork. my union rep did not know i was being terminated until the day of, in which a full investigation was not done on my behalf. eventually we found out that several employees were forced to go to hr and write complaints about me.i then launched a complaint with nyc eeoc of racial discrimation. within my last 2 mnths of working there 4 african americans were terminated from my dept alone. my union rep started an investigation only after i complained to him for the lack of support he had giving me. everytime i spoke to him is if i called him and he was returning my call. after 3 weeks of chasing him for my job back and after many failed attempts to retrieve my termination papers i called him and told him i was done with the waiting game and i will proceed on my own.i applied for unemployment benefits on april 27th and was told i had to wait 25 days until my employers gave the okay or if they wanted to contest my claim. eventually they never contested my claim and i began recieving my benefits. then on the week of 6/7/10 i did not recieve my benefits. i contacted the dept of labor and inquired about my benefits and they informed me that my benefits were on hold due to an investigation. i believe this is retaliation because of the eeoc complaint i have filed against them. what can i do ?

Before you do anything I would suggest that you bring your case to an employment law attorney for an assessment.
