Club/bar liable for dui or car accident

Are bars or nightclubs liable when a person leaves their establishment intoxicatted and gets into a car accident?

These are called 'dram shop laws'. But remember, no one is ever civilly liable without negligence.

A man who walks in, orders one drink after having 10 in another bar, and then goes out and gets into an accident will not create liability for the bar. On the other hand, if he has all ten in thast bar, then the bar has a problem.
