Hello:

This is in response to your question re: a DUI in N.Y. You did not mention the disposition of the case. Were you convicted and sentenced for DUI? If so, you are aware of the sentence the N.Y. judge ordered. As far as any consequences against your Fla. drivers license, I can only give you a general answer. Your blood alcohol level does not matter.

What matters is the ordered suspension of your license by the N.Y. court. The question is will our state be notified about that suspension. With the modern age of computers, Fla. will probably be notified. You can call a drivers license office and inquire without giving your name. You can also check the status of your license on line at the state of Fla. Div. of highway safety and motor vehicles web site. Click over on the right side under "license check". If it Fla. has been notified, your insurer may be notified. Unfortunately, this may cause your premium to increase.

'Hope this helps, Tom Rosenblum.
