Open Container
What is the law in NYS about open containers in public? I was walking from one bar to another last night with a cup with liquid in my hand and got an appearance ticket for open container.

I need more info to answer. Did you get an appearance ticket?,Were you fingerprinted? Did you get a pink summons? Where did this take place and where is the case returnable[being heard] what court? What are the exact charges,what law have you been accused of violating? With these answers I can better evaluate your situation.

Welkl if there is alcohol in it, without a lid, it certainly is an open container.
