school suspencion
under what grounds is a school allowed to suspend a student
. and are there procedures that the school must follow before they can suspend students,no violence towards any
student or teacher has been commited. just disruptive
behavior in the class room.
Re: school suspension
I note by your ZIP code that you are in Seaford, NY.
NY State law provides that a Principal may suspend a student for up to five (5) school days.
The parent or guardian is entitled to a hearing.
Disruptive classroom behavior is certainly a valid reason. Has the school been in contact with you prior to the suspension to change the behavior? If not, you may have a valid basis to request that other actions precede the suspension, which should be the last resort.
