my mom is 84 years old and has a home attendent for 12 hours per day she is legally blind and deaf and bed riddin. she is on social security and receives $1,075. a month, with her rent, food and apt expenses and all yet extended home care is asking for $280. per month. she doesn't have enough to cover all i mentioned so does she have to pay the spend down ? also can she get food stamps ?

Why don't you try to get mom into a nursing home which accepts Medicaid?
