Does the specifications of a trust

supersede what is said in a will?

Not always. Your question is too broad to be answered. Your question can only be answered with respect to specific property, and then asking how that property is owned, and whether there are beneficiary designations (such as "in trust for" or "payable on death" designations on the property. There is no general answer to your question.
